Dubstep Sketches

For my Editorial Illustration class, which consists of illustrators teaming up with designers to create awesome layouts for magazines and such. For this project, myself and my partner, Cristina Maxon are working with an article on dubstep.
These were my first couple of sketches for an alien/robot beastie to represent the genre of music. we both agreed on the little round one.

Sorry for the lack of posts...

but i've been busy helping to set up a new tattoo shop in Rochester!i worked at a shop in the city over the summer, but due to some unforeseen circumstances they closed down. one of the artists from the old shop decided to set up his own, and along with another artist we set up Voodoo Monkey Tattoo, on St. Paul Street over the last few days. This is my space. as the apprentice, i'm going to take care of a lot of the menial tasks around the shop, as well as watching the other two artists tattoo. it's nice to have my own space to draw and work on flash, as well as do some administrative work for my boss(es)
This is Dave's space. he specializes in fantasy and sci-fi style tattoos, and is fairly new to the trade, although his work is pretty phenomenal.
This is Voodoo's space. his style is reminiscent of lo-brow illustration work, and he specializes in custom pieces. a few of my tattoos are by him, and i love them to death. he's worked at other rochester shops and has been tattooing for over 3 years

Regular, illustration related posts should resume soon, since we're done setting up and officially open for business.
