David Bowie

graphite, levels altered in photoshop to enhance contrast.
same image, painted over digitally.
Still not quite happy with the color bowie, it's overwhelmingly cool-toned, i feel like it needs some reds or oranges to make it better.

watercolor, sharpie, digital on moleskine. Font is "Dead Hardy"
A quick little doodle i did for the short amount of time i was at work today. i've been decently ill lately and have been having a lot of ideas but haven't been up for a lot of good final results.
text is lyrics from "Keep on Driving" by the horror rapper Necro. may do another piece inspired by the same song.

Dragon and Yin Yang - Tattoo Design

Russian Outlaw Chest Piece - Tattoo Design

pen on layout bond
the text is translated as "The Church is the House of God," which in the context of a prison or outlaw tattoo metaphorically means "Prison is the Home of the Thief."
The subculture of Russian prison tattoos is pretty fascinating, i just ordered this book in hopes of learning more about them.

Stunt Cock! - Tattoo Design

graphite, sharpie, and digital. font is "Geomancy."
My tattoo assignment for this week was to draw two designs based on quotes from movies without actually referencing the movie in the drawing. This line is courtesy of Matt Stone and Trey Parker's "Orgazmo," which is about a Mormon porn star. you can infer from that what the line meant, i should hope.

Pacino and Strummer

2 realistic portraits in graphite.
Joe Strummer, 1st attempt at realism (not too satisfied with this, especially because his hair looks highlighted)

Al Pacino, 1st attempt (i like this one much more)
both are graphite on printer paper, i messed with the levels in photoshop to up the contrast.
